At St. Luke’s, we want our children to be inquisitive about the world around them. Our curriculum has been developed by staff to ensure full coverage of the National Curriculum as well as to foster a sense of wonder and curiosity about natural phenomena. It is taught mainly through activities linked to topic work. Children are taught to predict, hypothesise and record their findings from an early age so that they develop a scientific approach to problem-solving. Environmental issues such as pollution and conservation are given great emphasis. We teach children to respect and care for their environment by providing them with the scientific knowledge necessary to understand problems and supply possible solutions.
