  • Finding Courage

In our worship today, we explored St Patrick and reflected on what we can learn from his example.

On 17th March each year, people around the world celebrate St Patrick’s Day, remembering the life and legacy of the patron saint of Ireland.

In our worship we looked at a selection of pictures and asked: What links them together? The answer: they all look different today as they were all illuminated green.

Through a video, we learned how Patrick was captured as a boy and taken to Ireland as a slave, feeling lost, alone, and uncertain about the future. Yet, despite the hardships he faced, Patrick later made the courageous decision to return to Ireland to share his faith, even though he knew it would be dangerous.

His story reminded us that there are times in all our lives when we need to show the same courage and determination. We then took some time to reflect on moments when we have had to be brave and thought about the people who inspire us to stand strong in the face of challenges.
