Class update from Friday 12th September 2025:

It was wonderful to welcome the children back to school last week. They arrived with a sense of excitement and readiness to begin their journey in Year 2.

Over the first couple of days, the children considered what ‘superpowers’ they could bring to the classroom. Ideas such as showing kindness, making green choices and looking after classroom equipment ended up forming our class charter for the year ahead.

In English, the children have started to focus on the tale of Rapunzel. This version of the story by Bethan Woolvin is slightly different to the traditional tale!

Describing where we live has been at the centre of geography lessons recently. The children have described where they live by using their road name, town, country and planet. This week, the children learned the names of the five oceans and seven continents that make up our world. They have started to identify these on a world map.

In PE, the children focused on rolling a ball at a target. They were able to successfully roll a ball using two hands and just one hand, ensuring that their fingers were spread out and they used their opposite hand as a guide.
