How are we at the final Year 2 blog of the year already?!
The children enjoyed their swimming lessons this week and enthusiastically showed off the skills and strokes they have developed over the past few weeks. Year 2 have been incredibly well behaved during these lessons and should be very proud of themselves!
It was wonderful to see so many parents at last week’s Open Afternoon. We hope you enjoyed looking through the children’s books as well as looking at their amazing telephone box sculptures.
In maths, the children have been getting to grips with statistics. They have proven to be very competent at creating and reading tally charts as well as tables. The children have used this new skill whilst recording their team points using tallies.
In RE, the children have been enjoying learning about a range of Jewish festivals. This week, we looked at a particularly thought-provoking festival called Purim. This festival reminds us of the struggles Jews have faced and how we should remember to treat everyone fairly.
The children went on a fact-finding hunt around the classroom last week to learn about Kenyan culture. They were interested to learn that Kenyans have a different currency to us and people in the country side may live in mud huts.
