Over the past few weeks in English, we have been looking at different poetry types, we created our own 'found' poem by cutting out magazine words and stringing them together to create a stanzas. Found poems are the literary equivalent of a collage, found poetry is often made from newspaper articles, street signs, speeches, letters, or even other poems. This can be seen in the photo.
Our maths lessons have consisted of adding and subtracting fractions of the same denominator, as well as finding fractions of an amount. We came up with actions to help us to remember to divide the number by the denominator, in order to find the fraction of an amount.
In science, we have been looking at various different sources of light. We used torches to send messages in Morse code, as a light investigation into light travelling in straight lines. Did you know that the moon does not have its own light source; it reflects the sunlight that shines on its surface? The "moonlight" we see is simply sunlight being bounced off the moon's surface.
In geography, we have been looking at comparing London and Lima. We discussed them both being capital cities, their climates, the River Thames for London and the Rimac River for Lima.
