There has been a lot of buzz and excitement around the school this week as Key Stage 2 have been putting the finishing touches to their costumes and dances in preparation for the production of ‘The Wizard of Oz’. It has been wonderful to see them all participate with such enthusiasm and energy.
In their lessons, they are still continuing to work hard despite their tiredness and the heat! In English, they got into groups and used a checklist to edit each other’s information texts about Egyptian gods and goddesses. They corrected spelling, punctuation and grammar while also checking for cohesiveness and effective technical vocabulary.
The children have been really enjoying their maths lessons where they have been learning about lines of symmetry and reflecting shapes. Working in pairs, they identified whether or not the shapes had been reflected correctly and then made any necessary corrections.
It is hard to believe that the children had their very last ukulele lesson in music. They have thoroughly enjoyed these lessons throughout the year and have come a long way with their skills. It was lovely to see them performing a mini concert to mark the end of their lessons.
